Breaking: Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) Attacks Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB)

Breaking: Apple Inc. and Facebook Inc.

8-02-2016

BREAKING
Apple has just attacked Facebook by enabling advertising through iMessaging. But this is the tip of the iceberg -- Apple is creating a new social network, and Facebook better take note.

STORY
In February of this year it was revealed that Apple and its iMessaging app saw peaks at 200,000 messages a second. For reference, if that peak lasted year-round, we're that would be 63 quadrillion messages (Source: Business Insider).

Further, Apple just announced it has sold its one billionth iPhone, giving its iMessaging service an ecosystem that stands comparable to Facebook. In additional breaking news, CML Pro revealed the Apple patent that was filed for a new social network that was directly aimed at Facebook. Now, the attacks are getting more pointed and direct.

The Apple messaging app goes a lot further than just text messages between friends but rather encapsulates the Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) vision of Facebook Messenger.

Apple has quietly opened up its iMessaging platform to developers. Prepare for a rich user experience unique to the Apple ecosystem.

Companies are already paying big bucks to reach customers across social media. Imagine what will happen when they can directly access targeted customers on a one-to-one basis.

By opening up iMessaging, Apple pushed itself into direct competition with Facebook.

As CML Pro and ZACKS correctly pointed out, Apple never made a direct investment into a social media platform, because it was building one organically with its iPhone ecosystem. We remind all that it's this same ecosystem where billions of people access the Facebook family of apps. Eh, hem...

Rendering from Apple's Patent Filing

While there is so much going on at Apple that is always hidden to the outside due to immense secrecy, when CML Pro breaks out the patent office filings we uncover, all of a sudden Apple looks more like one of the most innovative companies in the world than a 'has been' smartphone maker on its last legs.

Facebook is amarvel, no doubt about it. Beautifully managed and gobbling up the entire world as a user, but Apple is dead serious about getting into that market in some way. While Facebook users are loyal, there is no customer base more loyal than an Apple hardware owner.
