Apple Joins Google in Energy Market
Apple and Alphabet

Preface
Apple has been given permission to sell energy into the wholesale market and joins Alphabet as they both tap into the alternative energy market.
STORY
Back in 2015, Apple invested $850 million in a solar farm, nearing 3,000 acres which will generate enough energy to power 60,000 homes. The goal is for Apple to generate enough energy to power all of its Apple stores and server farms. This was the largest non-utility solar project ever, according to Bloomberg. Tim Cook, Apple CEO said:
"
[This is the] biggest, boldest and most ambitious project ever.
We know that climate change is real. Our view is that the time for talk has passed, and the time for action is now. We've shown that with what we've done.

As a contrast, Alphabet signed a 400 Mw power-purchase deal in wind, bringing its total energy production to a whopping 1 gigawatt, more than seven times the 130 megawatts Apple is putting back into the energy grid. Alphabet is famously known for its 'floating cloud' patent, believed by many to be a move surrounding energy conservation. Here's a rendering from the patent office.
Together, Apple and Alphabet are the tech giants slowly moving into the energy realm, and for the record, Apple was given permission by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to sell "energy, capacity and other services."
As Apple and Alphabet grow cash to absurd levels, their reaches are growing well outside of technology. The energy market is just one, as both firms try to essentially eliminate their carbon footprints. The author is long shares of Apple
WHY THIS MATTERS
Facebook is just a part of the revolution in drones. But there is one company that is powering the visual chipsets, or “the eyes” of the drones and it has the opportunity to grow to massive heights.
It's identifying trends and companies like this this that allows us to find the 'next Apple' or the 'next Google.' This is what CML Pro does. Our research sits side-by-side with Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and the rest on professional terminals, but we are the anti-institution and break the information advantage the top .1% have.
Each company in our 'Top Picks' is the single winner in an exploding thematic shift like artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, drones, biotech and more. In fact, here are just two of the trends that will radically affect the future that we are ahead of:
That chart plots the growth in 4G usages worldwide and how it will grow from 330 million people today to nearly 2 billion in five years. This is the lifeblood fueling every IoT and mobile device on the planet and CML Pro has named the single winner that will power this transformation. Then there's cyber security:
Market correction or not, recession or not, the growth in this area is a near certainty, even if projections come down, this is happening. CML Pro has named the single best cyber security stock to benefit from this theme.
These are just two of the themes we have identified and this is just one of the fantastic reports CML Pro members get along with all the visual tools, the precious few thematic top picks for 2016, research dossiers and alerts. For a limited time we are offering CML Pro at a 90% discount for $10/mo. with a lifetime guaranteed rate.
